"Truly  AMAZING! Congratulations on this deeply moving creative action whose  expression is now embedded in our hearts, the soil, and the surrounding  nature of this urban environment!"

”The installation you are making is like nothing I have seen. It needs to be taken to every city.”

"I got lost in it in a way that allowed me to take/make my own  journey, prompted, inspired by the images and sound. As I looped between  the installations, I found new images as new north stars and set off.  It was a unique thrill."

Immersive art INSTALLATION

A companion piece to the film, this interactive  site-specific video and sound installation  explores the interconnection of the human body and the Earth through  the experiences of loss and illness.  It includes a memorial to nature lost because of human behavior.

Bring the installation event to your community.

We  live in a time of unfathomable loss to our natural world and we are  reeling  from chronic illness and lost loved ones from the pandemic.  Bring us to your community and we will gather among the trees to honor  what we have lost and to connect with the regenerative power of the  Earth. We are adapting the installation for each unique location.

Summary

An interactive  site-specific video and sound installation event by  Nicole Betancourt and Bray Poor with Video Engineer Jeremy Allen  exploring the interconnection of the human body and the Earth through  the experiences of loss and illness. Grieving for the ravages of climate  change, like grieving for lost abilities with a chronic illness, is  ongoing and often involves fears about an uncertain future. “Unfixing”  refers to moving out of a fixed position created by fear as a reaction  to pain – a shift in perspective allowing pain, but also wonder and  connection.
