Producer

Rose Kowalski began making films while studying Fine Arts at Central Saint Martins in London. Since creating her first video installations in 1997, her career has encompassed all aspects of production and post-production in documentaries, series, advertising, fiction, and digital content.  In 2023 Rose opened Horizontal Films Media,  a film production company based in Girona, Spain, producing movies that explore identity, consequence and belonging.  

Recent Producer credits include: THE CROSSROADS OF CHANCE (38’ 2021, Dir. Xavier Artigas), Málaga Festival Official Selection; BANCOCO, (63’ 2023 USA-Panama) Best Writer Quetzalcoatl Indigenous IFF; Best Director Geneve Awards; Best Documentary London Independent Film Awards; and AUTOTERÀPIA (2019-20 26 x 5’),  26-part factual entertainment series for Televisión de Catalunya that achieved a record viewing share for its slot. 

Directing highlights include: Televisión de Catalunya commission CLUB, that was selected for Best Iberoamerican Documentary, DOCSDF; and co-directed FRAGILE GROUND was awarded Best Photography and Best Experimental Film in the Documentary Challenge Awards at Hotdocs.
